In this episode, I am joined by an old friend. Eric is the driving force behind the new social media platform called "Junto." In Spanish junto translates to "together." Junto is a new breed of social media founded to rebalance our relationship with technology. The goal is to move beyond today's extractive paradigm through more human-centered design, distributed technology, and a nonprofit approach. Eric talks about his path and why he was inspired to make a novel social media platform. He also talks about his experiences in college and some of the issues that he sees in present-day society.

In this episode, I am joined with Dionna Widder who is the Chief Revenue Officer for the Houston Dynamo, Houston Dash, and BBVA Stadium. 2020 marks Dionna's 15th season in the industry. She has experience working in the NBA League office, Cleveland Cavaliers, and now in the MLS with the Houston Dynamo and Dash. Dionna is incredibly passionate about what she does and has a strong understanding of the sports industry. She is also the host of her own podcast WOMEN BLAZERS which can be found on Spotify and Anchor. In this episode, I am joined with psychology professor Umay Suanda (University of Connecticut). The typical child lives in a sea of data: countless words, numerous objects, and many social interactions. Despite what seems like a daunting flood of information, children learn quickly and efficiently about their world. Professor Suanda is interested in the processes that underlie this prodigious learning. He has broad research interests in early cognitive, social and language development, the focus of much of his work is about how infants, toddlers, and young children learn words.

Dr. Micah Nelp is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Princeton University. In this episode, we talk about IDO1 which is an enzyme in our body that affects the immune system. Sometimes the enzyme is good because it protects the fetus from being attacked by the mother's immune system, and other times it is not helpful because it protects tumors (cancer). Dr. Nelp has spent the last 4 years researching this one enzyme and in this episode, we discuss his research.
